Fonterra's fiscal 2020 revenue grows by 1.1 billion New Zealand dollars

Fonterra Co-operative Group’s fiscal year 2020 performance report shows that it achieved revenue of 21 billion New Zealand dollars, a year-on-year increase of 1.1 billion New Zealand dollars;after-tax profit was 659 million New Zealand dollars, an increase of 1.3 billion New Zealand dollars;adjusted after-tax profit was 382 million New Zealand dollars,An increase of 118 million New Zealand dollars;net debt of 4.7 billion New Zealand dollars,a year-on-year decrease of 1.1 billion New Zealand dollars.

Fonterra CEO Miles Hurrell said that Fonterra performed well in the first half of the fiscal year.However,the global new crown epidemic hit unexpectedly,which affected the performance of the second half of the fiscal year,especially in consumer brands and catering services.The adjusted EBIT of the consumer business in Oceania and Asia (excluding impairment,the same below) has improved,but due to market fluctuations in Hong Kong,China and Chile,the adjusted EBIT of the consumer business fell by 10%.In view of the economic outlook after the epidemic,Fonterra decided to write down the goodwill of its New Zealand consumer brand business by 21 million New Zealand dollars.

In the 2020 fiscal year,Fonterra's catering service business launched more than 270 innovative product applications,including Anxin Fu Tuan Dafu series,ice bread series,cheese moon cakes,milk cap beer and cheese shrimp slips,which all contributed to product sales growth.In addition,with the rapid development of new tea drinking channels in recent years,the products sold by Fonterra's catering service business in the tea industry in fiscal year 2020 are expected to produce more than 600 million cups of milk covered tea.

At present,Fonterra's consumer brand department has nearly 50 product portfolios in several categories,including room temperature milk,fresh milk,table dairy products,and adult milk powder.In terms of channel expansion,Fonterra's Consumer Brand Division has entered nearly 300 prefecture-level cities and over 10,000 stores through more than 100 offline distributors.
